Of everything on this site, sleep may be the single most under-rated piece — genuine healing happens during rest, not despite it.
Tissue repair, memory consolidation and immune system maintenance all rely heavily on adequate sleep. Chronically cutting sleep short is linked to worse outcomes across nearly every measure of health — weight, mood, immunity and cognitive function all suffer measurably from persistent under-sleeping.
A consistent sleep and wake time, even on days off; reducing bright screen light in the hour before bed; and treating adequate sleep as a non-negotiable part of health rather than a flexible variable to sacrifice first when the schedule gets busy.
Everything on this site is a personal account and a record of traditional practice. It is shared for information and reflection. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment for any disease.
If you are unwell — and particularly if you have a serious illness such as cancer, diabetes or heart disease — please stay under the care of a qualified doctor. Nothing here should replace that care or delay it. Talk to your physician before changing anything about how you eat, fast or treat yourself.
